Knee Injury from Over-Training
Yesterday morning, while waiting for my car being serviced at Roberts Chevrolet, I ran on the middle school (MS) track in Hicksville. I started feeling high pressure in my right knee and I thought it was just a general pain from over-training, since I ran Brooklyn half marathon 2 days ago, on May 22nd, and was on my feet all day, moving around the track during our home Our Lady of Lourdes (OLL) CYO track meet the following day.
I was feeling the 2 tendons on the inside of the back of the knee, like they would be sliding/rubbing against each other. I noticed it, but didn’t consider it serious, because it didn’t prevent me to finish my training plan which was 30 sec. fast x 30 sec. slow. for 3 miles.
Only in the afternoon, I observed that the feeling of pressure has increased and my knee was swollen. I kept it elevated already and iced it, but nothing more. I didn’t want to take any pain relievers, as I don’t like to put chemicals in my body. Today, I skipped our group interval training on the Lynbrook MS track, as I was barely able to move. I could not bend the leg because of the size of the swollen knee. I added the progress in this matter.
